The ocean breath creates a soothing calming sound which activates the vagus nerves and supports your mind and body to relax and let go.
Use this guided meditation to focus on your breath and not your thoughts. Escape to your inner beach.
How to do the Ocean Breath
- Ideally sit up, relaxing your shoulders and start to breathing in and out of the nose only.
- Focus on your throat and on the exhale slightly constrict throat and you should release a sound like a deep sigh.
- You can then apply the same constriction to the throat on the out breath and begin breathing in a rhythmical pattern.
- Notice the sound of the ocean!
- If your mind wonders, bring your focus back to your breath.
If you start to feel light headed please return to your normal breath and rejoin the practice when you are ready.
